Inspiring Gardens

inspiring gardensWe've retained this page, describing a tour from our 2008 programme, to give you an idea of the kind of tours Greenyonder offers ....

On our Inspiring Gardens tour, guests experienced three or four gardens off the tourist track, typically a 'surprise' first garden (or two), then the beautiful community wildlife garden at the Thistle Foundation (which provides tailored services for disabled people), and finishing at the National Trust's stunning Inveresk Lodge Garden. Each garden is inspiring in its own way, through its planting, design, wildlife, or the people who tend it.

"We want to say how much we enjoyed the Inspiring Gardens tour.  It's one of the best days we've ever spent in Edinburgh - and that's saying something. It was great seeing parts of Edinburgh we'd never normally visit, and your commentary on the gardens was wonderfully informal but very, very interesting and enjoyable. Please let us know when your tours start in 2009 as we'd certainly like to do another ."     Gillian and Sheila, Inverness

All Greenyonder tours include Visitor Notes - for example click here to read a sample of the Thistle Gardener's notes written monthy for Greenyonder by Amy Palmer over summer 2008
