General Information

Who is it for?

Wildlife garden in Edinburgh

Walk the Talk is for anyone over 12 years old, who is learning English.

It's for individuals and groups from 1 - 15.  We do not accept groups of more than 15 people.  If your group is larger than 15, we ask you to split into two or more tours.  This is because we want everyone to have a good chance of understanding and speaking.

Can children come?

At the moment, we do not cater for classes of children under 12 years.  However, we welcome family groups.

What levels of English do you cater for?

When you contact us, we'll ask how you grade the spoken English of most people in the group - post-beginner, intermediate, or advanced. However we are very flexible and can tailor activities to groups with mixed levels of spoken English. Unfortunately the activities are not suitable for complete beginners.

What happens in tours and the outdoor classroom?

All activities are conducted in English.

  • a tour involves walking and listening to the tour guide, who will also encourage everyone to ask questions and discuss what you see
  • an outdoor classroom consists of fun activities which encourage you to explore the space you're in, and which encourage everyone to use English, usually in pairs or small groups, followed by discussion of language points raised
